The Director for the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO), Mr David Bearfield, held an informal meeting with the media at the EU Info Centre aimed at familiarising the media with the latest events relating to the Office’s work.

Mr Bearfield pointed out that implementation of the EPSO Development Programme, representing the greatest reform of the candidate selection system for EU institutions since the establishment of the Union, was nearing completion. The goal of the programme is to draw to EU institutions a greater number of talented and qualified individuals from throughout Europe. Mr Bearfield also informed journalists of the current situation relating to employment of Croatian citizens in EU institutions, and was also available to answer questions.

EPSO’s task is to organise an open tender (for permanent employees) and the selection process (full time employment for an indefinite period), thus providing the office with a number of highly qualified personnel ready for employment in all European Union institutions and which is to include the European Parliament, European Council, European Commission, Court of Justice, Court of Auditors, Economic and Social Committee, Committee of the Regions and the European Ombudsman.
